Erin's movie meme! Cut it!
1. Name a movie that you have seen more than 10 times.
Heathers, Pretty In Pink, Jackass, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Holiday Inn, Sabrina, Rollerball
2. Name a movie that you've seen multiple times in the theater.
Titanic (against my will at every turn, believe me), Magnolia, The Fifth Element (drugs/booze influenced, though I generally stand by it being okay)
3. Name an actor that would make you more inclined to see a movie.
Cary Grant, Clive Owen, Claudette Colbert
4. Name an actor that would make you less likely to see a movie.
Tom Cruise (is that cliche?)
5. Name a movie that you can and do quote from.
Heathers, and sadly, Reality Bites
6. Name a movie musical that you know all of the lyrics to all of the songs.
Guys & Dolls, Singing in the Rain, Hello Dolly, Hair, Umbrellas of Cherebourg, uhm, really all of them, je suis geek
7. Name a movie that you have been known to sing along with.
All of them, but I am most guilty of disturbing others' viewing experience during Guys & Dolls
8. Name a movie that you would recommend everyone see.
The Thin Man
9. Name a movie that you own.
Mr. Pink is a collector of the movies, so too many to mention. Most recent purchase was The Philadelphia Story.
10. Name an actor that launched his/her entertainment career in another medium but who has surprised you with his/her acting chops.
Joseph Gordon Levitt (sitcom acting doesn't really count for anything) -- I am keeping Erin's answer, so fucking true after seeing Brick!
11. Have you ever seen a movie in a drive-in? If so, what?
Of course! I grew up in Western PA, you know I did! To name a few: Alien III, A Very Brady Sequel, and that animated movie about saving the rain forest back in the early 90s -- WTF was that called?
12. No number twelve!
13. Name a movie that you keep meaning to see but just haven't yet gotten around to it.
Uhm, a ton, but I find that friends are quite shocked I've never seen Grey Gardens. I didn't see any Star Wars movies until I was in college either (and only agreed to then to get a harpy boyfriend off my back), and I wish it could have stayed that way.
14. Ever walked out of a movie?
Yes, and I don't really know why now that I have seen it again: Soapdish! I think I was too young. I have movies I wish I'd walked out of, and I saw almost all of them with TJ! (See: Island of Dr. Moreau, Excess Baggage, The Man in the Iron Mask, etc. etc. etc.)
15. Name a movie that made you cry in the theater.
I cry constantly at the movies, but some recent weepies were Invincible (pretty much from the moment the film started until the closing credits) and Children of Men. Sometimes I cry because I just really like it.
16. Popcorn?
I want to live to be 40, dude, hell no. Plus, it makes noise and any persons making noise in a movie theater must be killed.
17. How often do you go to the movies (as opposed to renting them or watching them at home)?
Not as much as we used to when we lived in MA. Probably because we have a social life and it's so hard to find a parking place in North Jersey. Maybe a movie out every 3 or 4 months or so?
18. What's the last movie you saw in the theater?
Children of Men
19. What's your favorite/preferred genre of movie?
Netflix claims it's documentary and classics. But I eschew labels!
20. What's the first movie you remember seeing in the theater?
The Jungle Book
21. What movie do you wish you had never seen?
The Family Stone because it made me hate everyone in it, which is kinda inconvenient with such a large ensemble cast!
22. What is the weirdest movie you enjoyed?
I don't know how to answer this, but I will say that I happened to catch Poseidon a few weeks ago on HBO and it's horribleness turned mysteriously into awesomeness to me, somehow. I'm not proud of that, but there you go.
23. What is the scariest movie you've seen?
I am easily frightned by bad religious horror movies, so I am going to say The Exorcist III, because I saw it at a slumber party with a very religious Catholic girl sitting next to me, and it heightened the entire experience of The Scary. On the other hand, the film E.T. frightened me so intensely for so many years that maybe that should be my answer. I seriously to this day am still kinda scared of E.T.
24. What is the funniest movie you've seen?
Depends on what "funniest" means, but let's say Jackass.
25. What movies do you have from Netflix/the video store at your house right now?
Valley of the Dolls, Casino Royale
26. What movie(s), that you don't own, do you often get a huge fucking craving to watch?
Westworld (OMFG, why do I not own this?), and I was thinking just yesterday how I kinda wish I had those Harry Potter movies on dvd because they are so soothing.
