So, err, did the stock market break yesterday? That was kinda crazy, but I feel oddly validated about having a stocked-up pantry. (Yeah, I know granola bars and lobster bisque and pinto beans and almonds and artichoke hearts will only sustain me for so long, but I'd rather die of malnutrition than starvation.) Now I can survive the coming economic depression...uhm, for 2 weeks before I have to eat cat food, but whatevs. Maybe the granola bars will become like the new currency, there's always hope.
But really, I am just shocked that Bush's rosy picture of the economy turned out to be so wrong! Whoa, that guy made a big mistake, right? Good thing he's been right about everything else, huh? Oh, wait.
P.S., Whole Foods smackdown in the NYT today! Oooh, snap! I have kind of a grudge against them after a little dispute at the Amherst-Hadley store a few years ago involving barley malt, and now that I have friendly, sweet, unbelievably cheap Trader Joe's as my chum, who the hell needs Whole Foods anymore, right?
